Hanoi - It is expected that nearly 400 houses in Ha Dong and Thanh Tri will be demolished to implement the 10km-long Ring Road 3.5 project, with an investment capital of more than VND8,500 billion.

In July 2023, the Hanoi People's Council issued Resolution No. 14/NQ-HDND on deciding on the investment policy for the project "Investment in the construction of Ring Road 3.5, section from Phuc La - Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway".

This is a group A project, with a preliminary total investment of about 8,556 billion VND and is divided into 3 component projects.

Component project 1.1: Compensation, support, resettlement for site clearance in Ha Dong district. Preliminary total investment of 684 million VND, with Ha Dong District People's Committee as the investor.

Component project 1.2: Compensation, support, resettlement for site clearance in Thanh Tri district. Preliminary total investment is about 2,271 billion VND, Thanh Tri district People's Committee is the project investor.

Component project 2: Investment in construction of Ring Road 3.5 from Phuc La - Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway with a total investment of VND 5,601 billion, invested by Hanoi Civil Works Investment Project Management Board.

The project has a total length of about 10.34km, starting point Km0+000 on Van Khe street, Ha Dong district, ending point Km10+340 intersecting with Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway with a cross-section width of 60-80m, design speed of 80km/h.

On the route, 6 bridge projects are invested in construction including: Nhue River Bridge, Hoa Binh Bridge, To Lich Bridge, railway overpass, National Highway 1A overpass and Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway intersection overpass. These bridges have cross-sectional scales suitable for the scale of the route.

The project route includes main intersections including Van Khe intersection (Km0); Southern axis road intersection over the railway (Km1+757.80); existing railway intersection (Km5+857.55); National Highway 1A intersection (Km9+147.75) and Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway intersection (Km10+324.36).

The total land area expected to be recovered to implement the project is about 1,299,353m2 (129.9ha), of which the land for growing two rice crops is about 48.54ha.

Preliminary statistics show that about 386 houses will be demolished to implement the project (of which Ha Dong district has 14 houses, Thanh Tri district has 372).

According to the plan, the investor will select a contractor in the fourth quarter of 2024 - the first quarter of 2025. The project is expected to be completed and handed over in the fourth quarter of 2027.

The completion of the Ring Road 3.5 project from Phuc La - Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway will help reduce traffic congestion, contribute to accelerating the formation of urban areas in the area between Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4, and promote the exploitation of land fund potential, human resources, and material resources for socio-economic development of the capital in general and the region in particular.
