On December 19, the Hanoi Department of Construction organized an inspection and review of transportation conditions for nearly 1,000 school buses in the city.
According to Mr. Tran Viet Hai - Captain of the Transport Inspection Team (GTVT) of Region 2, Transport Inspection Department (Hanoi Department of Construction), this is one of the key contents of the general inspection of passenger transport vehicles, to ensure that units fully comply with legal regulations, ensure passenger safety and traffic safety.

On December 19, the Transport Inspectorate Team of Region 2 inspected nearly 1,000 school buses from 61 schools in 17 communes and wards in Hanoi. Through inspection, most vehicles are fully equipped with safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, car alarm bells, dash cams, etc.
Basically, all vehicles comply with legal regulations for school buses. However, the authorities discovered some extant species that pose a potential safety risk.
Specifically, some vehicles place fire extinguishers under low seats, fixed tightly with belts or steel loops, causing difficulties when needed for emergency use. The escape hammer on many vehicles was also tied tightly to the wall, and could not even be removed by hand. Improperly installing safety equipment can lead to serious consequences when there are fires, accidents or incidents of students being left behind in the vehicle.
According to the explanation of some drivers, the life hammer was tied tightly because the students were vsurious and used for the wrong purpose. However, the Transport Inspectorate Team of Region 2 requested the driver to cut the tie, and at the same time requested the school and the transport unit to strengthen management and remind students not to use safety equipment for the wrong purpose.
Mr. Tran Viet Hai said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to strengthen inspection of compliance with legal regulations for passenger transport vehicles, to ensure traffic order and safety, safety for passengers, and at the same time support transport businesses to improve vehicle and driver management.
