From February 1, 2026, Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) officially applies 100% of the ticket gate system for identification, electronic authentication and biometric identification on urban railway line No. 3.1 Nhon - Hanoi Station.
According to Hanoi Metro, previously, from November 2025, the identification, electronic authentication and biometric identification ticketing system was deployed on the 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line. The fact that the two urban railway lines of the Capital operate on the same unified ticketing system is considered a step forward in the roadmap for synchronizing the Hanoi urban railway network.
Hanoi Metro said that the new ticket system contributes to improving management and operation efficiency, creating a platform for interconnection between urban railway lines in the future, and at the same time aiming to develop modern, smart public transport, putting passengers at the center.
Along with the deployment of the new ticket gate, Hanoi Metro expands non-cash payment methods. Passengers can pay for tickets through the Hanoi Metro application using an account or domestic bank card; Visa international payment card; e-wallets such as MoMo, ShopeePay, VNPT Money.
In the initial deployment period, Hanoi Metro cooperates with partners to apply a number of programs to support passengers using non-cash payments. Specifically, passengers using Visa cards when passing through the ticket gate are supported 100% of the ticket price until the end of February 28, 2026.
Passengers who buy one-way tickets on the Hanoi Metro application are 100% supported with ticket prices until the end of March 21, 2026, applied exclusively on the Nhon - Hanoi Station route. One-way ticket payment via ShopeePay is reduced by 99% for the first 10 tickets each month, applied until the end of February 28, 2026.
In addition, passengers using MoMo wallets entering the code "METROHN" will receive a free turn ticket (maximum 10,000 VND); passengers paying via VNPT Money will be 100% free of ticket prices for 5 turns, applicable until the end of February 16, 2026.
According to Hanoi Metro, subjects such as elderly people aged 60 and over, children under 6 years old, people with disabilities, poor households... continue to be exempted from ticket fees according to the current regulations and policies of Hanoi City.
