Hanoi Metro transported more than 20.68 million passengers in 2025, ticket revenue exceeded 143 billion VND, and operated metro lines absolutely safely.

In 2025, Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro) recorded a transportation volume of more than 20.68 million passengers, exceeding 7.13% of the assigned plan.

According to Hanoi Metro, the above results were achieved in the context that the unit continues to receive the attention of the Government, ministries, branches of Hanoi City and the companionship of the people. In the year, Hanoi Metro focused on implementing three breakthrough stages including: Production and revenue growth; consolidating the organizational structure; promoting digital transformation, applying technology in operating operations.

Notably, route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong transported more than 13.68 million passengers, exceeding 7.4% of the year plan and an increase of 15.3% compared to 2024.

Ticket revenue reached over 143 billion VND, exceeding 29.09% of the plan, thereby contributing to a reduction of more than 31 billion VND in subsidy money from the city budget. Route 2A alone achieved revenue of 97.78 billion VND, an increase of 26.6% compared to the plan and an increase of 28.9% compared to 2024.

Along with business efficiency, operation was guaranteed to be absolutely safe with 161,611 passenger train trips, total operating distance reached more than 1.75 million km, maintaining safety throughout 365 days. Periodic maintenance and repair work reached nearly 100% of the plan. Average income of workers reached 13.5 million VND/person/month, an increase of 26.08% compared to 2024.

2025 also marks an important step forward in the digital transformation of Hanoi Metro when deploying electronic identification, authentication and biometric identification systems on route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong from December 5, 2025. This system continues to be tested on route 3.1 Nhon - Hanoi Station from January 1, 2026, and is expected to operate inter-routes from February 1, 2026.

Stepping into 2026, Hanoi Metro identifies 5 key objectives, including focusing on safe and efficient operation of routes 2A and 3.1 (elevated sections); mastering operation and maintenance technology; completing organizational models associated with digital transformation; effectively exploiting infrastructure assets and building a reputable Hanoi Metro brand domestically and internationally.

According to the plan, Hanoi Metro strives to increase passenger transport volume and ticket revenue by over 11%; revenue from infrastructure exploitation, trade - services reaches over 30 billion VND; labor productivity increases by 8-10%, labor income is at a fairly good level, contributing to the development of Hanoi's green - smart - safe urban transport system.
