According to camera images, at about 4:37 am on September 13, a truck with license plate 89H-003. xx driven by driver L.V. T (born 1991) was traveling in the South - North direction on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.
When reaching Km215+500, the section passing through Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province, the car suddenly lost control and crashed into a traffic sign on the side of the road. After that, the vehicle crashed into the hard median strip in the middle of the road and overturned.
The accident did not cause any casualties. However, the car overturned across the highway, causing traffic to be affected. Some traffic posts and medians were also damaged.
Traffic Police Team No. 10 of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6, Room 6, Traffic Police Department has intervened to investigate and clarify the cause.
Through inspection, the driver did not violate regulations on alcohol concentration and drugs. This person also presented all documents related to transportation activities.
Travel monitoring data shows that drivers had breaks during travel and did not drive for more than 4 consecutive hours before the accident occurred.
However, initial verification results determined that the driver was sleepy leading to loss of control.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that drivers should not drive vehicles when they are tired or sleepy. Drivers need to actively rest fully and stop the vehicle when signs of impaired composure appear.
