At noon on April 27, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province and the investor started the Phan Thiet Airport project - civil aviation item. This is also an event to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.
Phan Thiet Airport in Mui Ne ward is a military and civilian dual-use airport. The military item has been inaugurated and put into use by the Air Defense - Air Force Service.

Phan Thiet Civil Airport project with a total investment of more than 3,900 billion VND, an area of nearly 75ha.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh assessed that this project has a special meaning. Because this is the first civil airport in Vietnam invested with private capital and using dual-use infrastructure such as runways and taxiways invested by the military to serve both national defense and socio-economic development tasks.
This is the model that the Party and State are encouraging and replicating, in line with the spirit of Resolution 68 on private economic development.

Phan Thiet Airport is planned according to 4E standards - a level allowing the operation of modern wide-body aircraft, with a designed capacity of about 2 million passengers per year in phase 1.

The passenger terminal is 18,000m2 wide with a design inspired by Champa indigenous culture. The airport is designed to serve regular domestic flights and is fully capable of operating international flights.


The presence of Phan Thiet Civil Airport is a signal attracting a new wave of investment in resort real estate, commerce, logistics and aviation services. At the same time, creating thousands of jobs and making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Lam Dong province.
