On January 10, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai signed a decision approving the bidding documents to select investors for the Phan Thiet Airport project (Phan Thiet airport), a civil aviation item.
The bidding documents are built tightly with 3 main parts, including detailed instructions, bidding data tables and draft contracts. This is a solid legal framework, based on investment policy approval decisions, ensuring project implementation.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Construction to play the role of bidding inviter. The key requirement is that the selection process must take place in a competitive, fair and transparent environment.
The goal is to find investors with sufficient legal status, capacity and experience to meet the requirements of the bidding documents to implement the project to ensure progress.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Department of Finance will be fully responsible for the accuracy in appraisal, ensuring the project operates smoothly from the first steps.
Previously, on December 15, 2025, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee signed a decision approving the investment policy of Phan Thiet Airport project - a civil aviation item in Mui Ne ward, in the form of bidding to select investors.
Phan Thiet Airport was started in January 2015. According to the approved plan, the project includes 2 items: Military airport and civilian airport.
The military component built by the Air Defense - Air Force Service was put into operation and inaugurated on December 19, 2025.
Phan Thiet Airport serves the operation of level 4E civil aviation aircraft, with a designed capacity of 2 million passengers/year (in 2030). The airport will operate domestic routes and non-scheduled international flights when needed.
The total estimated investment capital is about 3,797.9 billion VND, excluding compensation, support, and resettlement costs. The operating term of the project is 50 years, from the date the investor is approved according to current legal regulations.
In mid-July 2025, a company sent a document to the Office of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province regarding interest and requesting a proposal to invest in the civil item of the Phan Thiet airport project.
