Lao Dong's records in the first days of September, at the construction site of the Tran Binh Trong road expansion investment project (Vuon Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City), many machines and equipment were gathered, workers were urgently constructing. Along the route, most households have dismantled houses, handed over land, serving the project. Many households are repairing and renovating their residences after handing over the land.
In the Ho Thi Ky flower market area, business activities still take place during the project implementation period. Ms. Lien Trang, who has been doing business here for more than 10 years, said that in the past, the road was small and degraded, and flower trucks could not conveniently enter, so they had to transport goods far away, causing inconvenience.
Now that the road opening project has been implemented, it is expected that when completed, the road will be wide and spacious, and business will also be more convenient. I also plan to renovate the flower shop to be synchronized and attract more customers, especially tourists," Ms. Lien Trang shared.
According to Ms. Trang, the road construction process was dusty, and travel was also difficult. However, she sympathized and hoped that the project would be completed soon so that people could stabilize their lives.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh Man (Vuon Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that this area is being invested in by the city with many items in parks and roads, so the appearance changes every day.
After Tet, the road began to focus on clearance, until now I see that the households in the clearance area have almost completed handover. In recent days, construction has been bustling. With this progress, I think it will be completed soon," Mr. Man said and hoped that when Tran Binh Trong road is expanded, it will also contribute to reducing congestion at Ly Thai To intersection and Cong Hoa intersection.
Talking to PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen The Khang - Vice Chairman of Vuon Lai Ward People's Committee informed that as of September 17, 115/116 cases have handed over land, reaching 99.14%; the remaining cases have not been approved for plans due to obstacles in the level of temporary housing support. Currently, the locality has approved compensation, support, and resettlement plans for households in the clearance area.
According to Mr. Khang, the household with the highest compensation amount in the Tran Binh Trong road expansion and clearance project is more than 28.9 billion VND.
The locality sets a target to complete site clearance before October 1 to implement phase 2 of the Memorial Park project at No. 1 Ly Thai To.
Regarding construction progress, the items of box culverts, road cross culverts and 17/17 manholes have been 100% completed. The power pipeline system on the right branch line reached 95%, the left branch reached 100%; roadbed reached 40% and sandbed reached 30%.
Ward leaders requested the construction unit to accelerate the roadbed, road surface, and sidewalk items; and at the same time underground the power grid and water supply system.
The project to expand Tran Binh Trong road (from Hung Vuong to Ly Thai To) from 5 m to 15 m, with an investment of more than 985 billion VND. Of which, construction and consulting costs account for more than 40 billion VND, the rest is for compensation, support and resettlement.
It is expected that the entire investment project to expand Tran Binh Trong street, including intersections on the route, will be completed in November 2026.
