Nghe An urges site clearance for Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway

Nghe An - Localities must hand over the entire site of the Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway before September 30, 2026.

On September 13, the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that it had requested departments, branches, and localities to accelerate the progress of site clearance for the Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway project.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of Hung Nguyen, Kim Lien, Dai Hue, Van An, Nam Dan, Xuan Lam, Hoa Quan, Son Lam and Kim Bang communes are requested to review all tasks that have not met the progress.

Localities must complete the handover of agricultural land, forestry land, and residential land; build resettlement areas and relocate technical infrastructure works before September 30, 2026.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee assigned the Nghe An Traffic Works Project Management Board to focus on completing the approval and selection of contractors with sufficient capacity and experience and organizing simultaneous construction throughout the route.

This unit must also urgently complete the licensing procedures for the remaining material mines, ensuring the source of filling soil to serve the project. The Provincial People's Committee emphasized not to let the situation of material shortage interrupt the construction progress.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to urge forest owners to accelerate auction procedures, exploitation, and salvage of forest products; and soon hand over clean land to investors and contractors.

Relevant departments and agencies must promptly handle arising difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the overall progress of the Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway project.

The Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway project is about 60km long, with a total investment of about 23,940 billion VND, connecting the North - South expressway in the East with Thanh Thuy border gate. The project started on May 18, 2026, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2029.
