On April 2, the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic, Civil and Industrial Works of Kon Tum province said that some contractors are still waiting for people to hand over the site to speed up the project's construction progress and implement construction contracts.
Specifically, the Kon Tum City Western Main Axis Road Project (total investment of VND1,492.6 billion, nearly 20 km long) has only handed over nearly 7 km of site, causing difficulties for construction. In particular, package No. 3 (Km11 - Km19+840) cannot be implemented due to problems in reclaiming rubber trees and crops.
At the Truong Chinh Road project (total capital of 457.126 billion VND), although construction started in 2020, it has not been completed after nearly 5 years.
The Provincial Road 671 upgrade project (total capital of 128.94 billion VND) was expected to be completed in May 2025, but to date, the site clearance has not been completed, causing the contractor to not reach the planned workload.
These are all key projects with large investment scale in Kon Tum province. Although the provincial Department of Construction has transferred enough funds to the City Land Fund Development Center, the specific compensation plans for the projects have not yet been approved, affecting the implementation progress.
Faced with prolonged difficulties in site clearance, Deputy Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Tuy directly inspected the situation and requested local authorities to urgently verify the origin of land, houses, trees, and crops to develop a compensation and support plan in accordance with regulations, ensuring the rights of the people.
At the same time, commune and ward leaders need to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to speed up the progress of site handover.
