Morning of July 30, in an interview with Labor Newspaper, Mr. Tran Quang Huy - Deputy Director of Road Joint Stock Company 226, Dien Bien said that on the National Highway 6 route, there are many landslides and flooding points such as at Km22+200, Km395+259 making traffic very difficult.
Especially at Km400, many large rocks from the mountain slope rolled down blocking the road, causing complete traffic paralysis. Currently, the unit is focusing manpower and machinery to overcome landslides, and ensure safe traffic flow for people and vehicles.
Additionally, on Provincial Road 140 connecting Tuan Giao district and Tua Chua district, a large landslide also appeared. Especially at Km1+520, the amount of mud from the talus slope spilled onto the road causing local congestion.
On the National Highway 4H route connecting Muong Cha district - Nam Po district and Muong Nhe district, many landslides also appeared causing hours of congestion, making it very difficult for vehicles to pass. Currently, the route management units are mobilizing manpower and machinery to clear the landslides and ensure traffic.
As for the National Highway 12 section through Muong Pon commune, Dien Bien district, the flood situation is still complicated. Therefore, the Department of Transport requires Dien Bien Road Joint Stock Company 2 to install guide signs, barriers, and arrange personnel to guard and regulate traffic at critical points.
Also on National Highway 12, the Km120 section in Huoi Leng commune experienced a major landslide causing complete road blockage early in the morning.
According to information from the Dien Bien Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, at 10:20 AM on July 30, radar identified a rain-causing cloud area still appearing in the area. Throughout the day and night, the entire province will continue to experience heavy rain with common rainfall ranging from 20-70mm, with some places over 100mm. This rain spell may last until the end of July 31.
