On September 2nd, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police said that during the peak National Day holiday, Ham Tan Traffic Police Station set up a speed control checkpoint on National Highway 1.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered 11 cases of speeding. Notably, when detecting the Traffic Police checkpoint, some people turned their cars around, trying to avoid inspection.
The working group has made records of handling 8 cases. The remaining three cases were notified of remote fines according to regulations.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dang Vi, Deputy Head of Ham Tan Traffic Police Station, said that during the National Day holiday of September 2nd, the unit arranged forces to stick to the route, strengthen patrols and controls to prevent and reduce traffic accidents.
Functional forces also monitor the traffic situation on the route to proactively divert and regulate traffic when congestion occurs, ensuring smooth and safe traffic.
In addition to speeding violations, working groups focus on checking driving time, journey monitoring devices, driver image recording devices; carrying oversized and overloaded goods, extending cargo beds and other violations.
Strengthening patrols, inspections, and strictly handling violations, especially speeding and trying to avoid checkpoints, aims to raise awareness of law compliance, contributing to preventing and reducing traffic accidents on National Highway 1.
