Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security, on August 31st - the third day of the National Day holiday September 2nd, traffic police forces nationwide continued to strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations, focusing on violations with high risks leading to traffic accidents.
According to the Traffic Police Department, during the day, the national traffic police force discovered 18,738 violations, made records and handled 14,961 cases.
In which, through the monitoring system, functional forces discovered 1,568 cases, made records of 111 cases. Through professional technical equipment, discovered 2,134 cases, made records of 183 cases.
Regarding direct patrol and control on roads, local police discovered 14,836 violations and made records to handle 14,467 cases.
Functional forces temporarily seized 87 cars, 2,749 motorbikes and 262 other vehicles; revoked 331 driver's licenses of all kinds, and deducted points from driver's licenses for 1,684 cases.
Notably, during the day, the traffic police force discovered 2,513 cases of alcohol concentration violations.
In addition, there were 3,240 cases of speeding; 77 cases of carrying overloaded goods; 25 cases of carrying oversized goods; 135 cases of carrying more people than prescribed; 10 cases of picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong places...
Functional forces also discovered 4 cases of drug-related violations.
On expressways under the management of the Traffic Police Department, expressway traffic police teams controlled 1,734 vehicles, detected and made records of 107 cases. Functional forces deducted points from driver's licenses in 27 cases and sent violation notices in 714 cases.
In which, one case of not complying with regulations on safe distance with cars running in front on the highway was fined 5 million VND and deducted 2 points from the driver's license.
On waterways, the traffic police force discovered and recorded 132 violations. On railways, 63 cases were discovered and recorded.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the traffic accident situation during the day continued to decrease in all 3 criteria. Accordingly, from 3 pm on August 30 to 3 pm on August 31, there were 40 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 22 people and injuring 24 people.
Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 7 cases; the number of deaths decreased by 4 people; the number of injuries decreased by 5 people. During the day, there were no traffic accidents on railways and waterways.
The Traffic Police Department requests people to strictly comply with the provisions of law on traffic order and safety; absolutely do not drive vehicles after using alcohol and beer; comply with regulations on speed, maintain a safe distance and do not use phones while driving vehicles.
