By June 17, nearly 2 months since the groundbreaking, the Phan Thiet Airport Project - Civil Aviation Item has been implemented with many items according to schedule.
Accordingly, the geological survey drilling work has been completed. Currently, the contractor is mobilizing machinery and equipment to level the ground, and at the same time deploying pile driving at the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower construction area.

Records at the construction site show that the construction area has been fenced off. Motorized vehicles are gathered, along with workers deploying the construction of service roads to serve the construction process.
The construction unit said that in the period from the end of June to the beginning of July 2026, the contractor will continue to increase manpower, machinery and equipment to accelerate progress, ensuring construction milestones according to the set plan.

Inspecting the project progress, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the construction unit to deploy the items on schedule as committed; urgently mobilize sufficient manpower and resources to organize synchronous construction.
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee also requested to regularly inspect and urge the construction site, focus on accelerating the progress of items, and strive to complete the project on schedule or earlier than the committed time.

Phan Thiet Airport Project - Civil aviation item is invested according to 4E level airport standards, with a designed capacity of 2 million passengers/year by 2030. The total investment of the project is nearly 3,900 billion VND, implemented on an area of nearly 75ha in Mui Ne ward.

The passenger terminal has an area of about 18,000m2, designed inspired by Champa culture. According to the plan, the civil aviation item of Phan Thiet airport will be completed and put into operation in 2027.
When put into operation, the airport will serve domestic flights and be able to receive irregular international flights.
Thereby, contributing to shortening travel time from major centers such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang to Phan Thiet, while strengthening aviation connectivity in the South Central region and the southern key economic region.
