In mid-June 2026, reporters recorded at Nhac Son Park (Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai province), many items under the phase 2 renovation and repair project are being urgently implemented by construction units.
Put into use in 2004, Nhac Son Park has a total area of about 15 hectares, of which the lake surface is 5.6 hectares wide. This is one of the major entertainment and cultural activity spots of the locality, attracting a large number of people and tourists.
However, after more than 20 years of operation, many items at the park have deteriorated.
The lighting system, walking paths, green trees and auxiliary works have deteriorated, affecting urban aesthetics as well as people's experiences when visiting and playing.
Faced with that situation, Lao Cai province has implemented a project to renovate and repair Nhac Son Park with a total investment of 146 billion VND, implemented in the period 2023 - 2026.
In which, phase 1 has a budget of more than 112 billion VND with items such as dismantling fences, paving sidewalks around the park, expanding Le Quy Don street and building a 28m long and 4m wide landscape arch bridge.
Phase 2 is being implemented with a total capital of nearly 34 billion VND, focusing on renovating the lighting system, decorative electricity, planting trees, lawns, installing outdoor sports equipment and other auxiliary items.
Phase 2 of the project started in January 2026, with a implementation time of 360 days. The Lao Cai - Coc San Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor.
The joint venture of Duc Manh General Construction Co., Ltd., Thao Nguyen Trading and Construction Co., Ltd. and Long Phu Investment and Service Joint Stock Company is responsible for construction.
It is known that the project includes main items such as leveling ground, building a walking path system in two areas, planting trees, installing a walking path lighting system and decorative electricity around the lake, building public toilets and many auxiliary works.
After more than 5 months of construction, many items have been completed such as the electrical system decorating around the lake, the lighting system for walking paths, walking paths and green trees in site area No. 1. The implemented volume reached about 70% of the contract value.
Contractors are focusing manpower and machinery to construct site area No. 2 and public toilet items to ensure the set progress.
According to Mr. Hoang Kim Ngoc - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee, the investor and construction units need to increase manpower and equipment, take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate the progress of the remaining items; and at the same time ensure the quality of the project, labor safety and environmental sanitation throughout the construction process.
According to the plan, the project will be completed before September 2, 2026, about 3 months earlier than the contract term.
When completed, Nhac Son Park will not only contribute to improving the quality of urban landscape but also create more green, clean, and beautiful spaces to serve the needs of people for entertainment, recreation, and health training.
