On January 13, the Traffic Maintenance Management Board of the Department of Construction of Quang Tri province confirmed that, up to this point, two flood overpasses on DT.586 road in the Vietnam - Laos border area have been basically completed.
Currently, contractors are focusing on completing the access roads at both ends of the bridge and auxiliary items. The volume of the package is about 90%.
At the construction site, machinery and manpower are mobilized to the maximum to take advantage of favorable weather conditions and accelerate progress.
The remaining items are mainly paving the roadbed, reinforcing the taluy, completing the road surface and traffic safety system. The goal is to complete the asphalt concrete pavement in the near future so that people can travel safely and conveniently during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

However, the project still has some small obstacles. Specifically, at some locations within the project area, there are power lines crossing roads and entrances to people's houses, and people-to-people connection roads that have not been upgraded, causing certain impacts on the construction progress. Relevant parties are coordinating to handle to avoid delaying the general completion milestone of the project.
The project to build flood overpasses on DT.586 route has a scale of building two new flood overpasses at Km3+937 and Km12+771, replacing old spillway bridges on DT.586 route, along with a system of roads at both ends of the bridge with a total length of 726.27m. In which, Km3+937 bridge is 33.3m long, roads at both ends of the bridge are 258.89m long; Km12+771 bridge is 51.3m long, roads at both ends of the bridge are 382.78m long. The construction unit is the Consortium Manh Linh Construction Co., Ltd. - Ngoc Chau Phuong Joint Stock Company, with a construction contract value of 21.8 billion VND.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected that due to many problems, especially lack of capital and land to build, the project once fell into a state of slow construction, making local people anxious every rainy and flood season. After Lao Dong Newspaper reflected this situation, the difficulties were gradually removed, the project was unlocked resources, and construction resumed with a spirit of urgency.
