On May 17, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu - a car driver said that he had just experienced a dangerous situation while traveling on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway. The incident was recorded by a dashcam.
According to Mr. Vu, in the early morning of the same day, he was driving a car on the highway in rainy weather, so visibility was limited.
When he reached km220 through Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province, he saw the light from afar and thought it was a car traveling in the opposite direction.
However, when the distance was only about 10m, he was horrified to discover that it was a motorbike running in the opposite direction on the highway, close to the hard median strip in the middle of the road.
The situation happened too suddenly. Mr. Vu had to immediately steer to avoid collision. Thanks to timely handling, the accident did not occur. The motorbike continued to run in the opposite direction on the highway.
Immediately after that, the road patrol team of the expressway management unit discovered that there were motorbikes circulating on the route, so they quickly went to the scene to handle it.
The road patrol force then put both motorcyclists and vehicles on specialized trucks, taking them out of the highway safely to avoid traffic accidents.
