Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security, from 7:30 am on June 10 to 7:30 am on June 11, the AI camera system on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway at Km20 recorded 9,811 vehicle trips.
Through data analysis, the system detected 25 cases with signs of violation. After censorship, functional forces determined that there were 8 actual violations, including 2 cars and 6 passenger cars.
In Hanoi, AI cameras placed at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection recorded 46 cases of motorcyclists not wearing helmets and 23 cases of running red lights.
Meanwhile, at the Le Van Luong - Nguyen Tuan intersection, the system detected 4 cases showing signs of going in the wrong lane. However, through inspection work, functional forces have not identified any actual violations.
In addition to technology monitoring, channels to receive traffic violation feedback from people also bring positive effects.
Accordingly, through the Facebook platform, the Traffic Police Department received 121 reports. Among them, there are 5 reports with sufficient grounds to transfer to local police for verification and handling.
On the Zalo platform, functional forces received 22 reports, of which 17 reports were sufficient grounds for handling for acts such as overtaking in prohibited places, illegal parking, carrying more people than prescribed, using phones while driving, not complying with traffic lights and going into emergency lanes on the expressway.
For the VNeTraffic application, functional agencies received 211 complaints, of which 14 cases have been transferred for verification and handling. The main violations include changing lanes without prior warning, driving in the wrong lane, overtaking vehicles in violation of regulations, going against traffic flow and stopping and parking in violation of regulations.
According to the Traffic Police Department, each violation image recorded by AI cameras or each reflection provided by people contributes to supporting functional forces to improve management efficiency and build a civilized and safe traffic environment.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that traffic participants strictly comply with the provisions of law, especially wearing helmets when driving motorbikes and motorcycles; comply with traffic lights; do not use phones while driving; do not speed and comply with the correct lane and road section.
The Traffic Police Department also emphasized that with the support of AI camera systems and the companionship of people, traffic violations can be detected and handled according to regulations.
