Recorded on the East-Dong Ha bypass (Quang Tri province), the section from the south of Bach Dang bridge to the Vinh Phuoc river bridge, many trucks, dump trucks, cars and motorbikes are still circulating even though the project is in the process of completion.
The road surface has basically been formed, but many traffic safety assurance items such as guardrails, painted lines, and signs are still under construction. In some locations, steel pipes, corrugated iron guardrails, and curbs are still located close to the roadside.
At the intersection between the bypass and the coastal road project, trucks carrying materials are circulating while rollers and excavators are under construction. At the Thuan Chau road intersection, workers are painting lines, but vehicles are still running continuously.

Notably, according to Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police, in 10 days, 2 traffic accidents occurred on this route, killing 3 people.
Faced with the above situation, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 has proposed to the Department of Construction to close the route, not to let vehicles arbitrarily enter when the project has not been accepted and handed over. The People's Procuracy of Region 5 - Quang Tri also proposed to overcome the risk of traffic unsafety on the route.
It is known that the eastern bypass of Dong Ha city is 22.4km long, with a total investment of 415 billion VND, starting point at Doc Mieu, Gio Linh commune and ending point in Ai Tu commune. The project is expected to be completed and put into use at the end of August 2026.
