On March 18, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) said that it had made a record of handling a driver who drove a dump truck violating regulations when traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway.
Previously, during patrol and control on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, passing through Lam Dong province, the task force discovered a dump truck with license plate 75A-384. xx traveling on lane 1 (left lane, next to the median strip).
This act not only violates regulations but also obstructs cars behind from asking to overtake.

The working group stopped the vehicle at the intersection and made a record of administrative violation against the driver according to point b, clause 5, Article 6 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP. For this violation, the driver was fined from 4 million VND to 6 million VND, and at the same time 2 points were deducted from the driver's license.
According to a representative of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6, from January 2026, the traffic organization plan on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway has been adjusted and supplemented.
Specifically, trucks with a total weight of over 7.5 tons and passenger cars with over 29 seats are not allowed to circulate in lane 1, the lane adjacent to the median strip.

Over the past time, most drivers have complied with lane separation regulations. However, there are still some cases of intentionally going into the left lane or maintaining driving in this lane for a long time, increasing the risk of collisions.
Traffic police recommend that vehicle drivers strictly comply with lane separation regulations, only use the left lane to overtake when necessary, do not "stick to the left lane", contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety on the expressway.
