On March 16, news from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) said that they had just simultaneously launched a campaign to inspect and handle illegal parking and stopping on many key expressways.
Through records during the day, more than 60 violations were detected and handled in the form of remote fines.
On March 15, 2026, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) organized 10 patrol teams to simultaneously control on many key highways, using professional camera systems to record violations.
The routes that are strengthened for patrol include: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay; Phan Thiet - Dau Giay; Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao; Cam Lam - Vinh Hao; Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Van Phong - Nha Trang.
Through recorded work during the day, functional forces discovered more than 60 cases of vehicles stopping and parking improperly on the expressway.
Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 has prepared a dossier and sent traffic ticket notices to vehicle owners in accordance with the law.
According to regulations, the act of stopping and parking vehicles on highways in the wrong places will be fined from 12 - 14 million VND, and at the same time 6 points will be deducted from the driver's license.
In addition, functional forces also focus on handling acts such as not turning on hazard warning lights when vehicles encounter problems and are forced to stop in the emergency lane; not placing warning signs or warning devices at least 150 m behind the vehicle when having to stop on the driving lane.
Among the cases handled is a mail car driver with license plate 29K - 058. xx.
Accordingly, on the night of March 15, on the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway section passing through Khanh Vinh area in Khanh Hoa province, functional forces recorded this driver stopping his car on the emergency lane to sleep.
According to the traffic police force, the expressway is a high-speed traffic route, so arbitrary stopping and parking can cause serious accident risks.
In fact, many accidents have occurred stemming from drivers stopping vehicles improperly or not placing safety warnings, causing vehicles behind to not have time to handle the situation.
