Nguyen Anh Minh participated in the Jones Cup Invitational 2026 golf tournament held at the arena of Ocean Forest Golf Club, Georgia (USA).
84 golfers who won spots in the tournament competed and closed the final pit on January 12 (Vietnam time). At the end of the competition, Nguyen Anh Minh scored +5 with the number of strokes being 72 and 77 respectively to rank T35. The champion of the tournament is American golfer William Sides with a total score of -6, the number of strokes being 69 and 69 respectively.
Golfers were invited to participate based on their achievements at international amateur tournaments and rankings in the world amateur rankings and achievements at college golf tournaments in the US. 84 golfers competed in 54 stroke play pits, without cut-offs. Therefore, each person had the opportunity to show their best expertise.
The Jones Cup Invitational 2026 is Nguyen Anh Minh's first international competition program in 2026. Golfers have started studying at Oregon State University (USA), so they have more opportunities to compete in tournaments belonging to the University system in the US.
Anh Minh participated in the recent SEA Games 33 and won a silver medal in the men's individual event.
After finishing the competition in Thailand, Anh Minh once expressed that he would continue to strive to prepare professionally to aim for professional improvement in the future. Currently, Nguyen Anh Minh is ranked 40th in the world men's amateur golf rankings.
