This year, for the first time, Vietnam is the host of the 2026 Vietnam International Team Golf Championship. The competition program will take place from January 9 to January 11 at the arena in Phan Thiet (Lam Dong). This is also the first international tournament to take place in Vietnam in January 2026.
In addition to representatives of the host Vietnam, the Organizing Committee acknowledged golfers from Japan, Korea, China, USA, Canada, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia registered to participate.
Teams are allowed to register a maximum of 12 official golfers and 4 reserves. According to regulations, the tournament will apply a pit-to-pit format including fourball, foursome and doubles (single match).
With fourball, each team has 2 golfers and their own balls. The best score of each member in each hole will be the team's score.
With the foursome, 2 members will compete with one ball and take turns performing the shot until the ball hits the hole. If 1 member kicks the ball at a odd number hole, the other person kicks the ball at a even number hole. The pair that scores better will win the hole and gain a 1up advantage. The match will end when the number of winning holes (up, in front) is greater than the remaining holes.
According to regulations, each match wins 1 point, a draw is 0.5 points. After the competition days, the team with the highest score will receive the championship cup.
