Workers need more effective protection mechanisms
In the context of a rapidly changing labor market, workers today no longer only worry about having jobs, but are starting to pay more attention to the stability and sustainability of that job.
And they have placed many expectations on the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026–2031.
Mr. Tran Vinh Quang, a worker working at Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Da Nang, shared: "I hope that at the upcoming Congress, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations will have policies and mechanisms to protect the rights of our workers more effectively, especially in cases where businesses are late in paying salaries and owing insurance.
Reality shows that, although the legal system is increasingly complete, in many cases, workers are still the weaker party. When disputes occur, when their rights are violated, they often lack information and legal skills, so they really need mechanisms, policies and faster and stronger responses from relevant agencies to promptly protect them.
In which, the Front, in its role as a representative organization, gathering people from all walks of life, is expected to further promote the function of supervision, criticism and protection of the legitimate rights of workers in enterprises.
Another issue also emphasized by workers in Da Nang is the need to improve skills. In the context of rapid technological changes, if not retrained, many workers are at risk of falling behind.
I think if there are more vocational training and skills enhancement support programs, workers will be more assured and stick with their jobs longer," Mr. Quang added.
Farmers hope to be given opportunities
If workers need protection in the industrial environment, farmers are facing another problem of how to produce sustainably in an increasingly competitive market.
Ms. Tran Thi Le, a vegetable farmer in Ban Thach ward, shared: "We not only need support when in difficulty, but also need to be guided to do business more methodically. From product output, to how to do clean agriculture, and then applying technology. If there is good connection, farmers can completely stand firm on their own.
Ms. Le's proposal shows a very noteworthy change in the thinking of farmers today. They no longer only rely on short-term support, but want to be given opportunities for long-term development.
In that context, the role of the Front is not only to mobilize and propagate, but also to become a bridge. A bridge between farmers and businesses, with the market, and with science and technology programs.
The fact that the Vietnam Fatherland Front included the content "participating in science and technology development, innovation, building a digital society" in the new term action program shows a correct direction.
However, the important thing is not in putting it into the document, but in how it is implemented in practice. How to make concepts like "digital transformation", "high-tech agriculture" no longer unfamiliar to farmers, but become tools to help them increase their income.
When farmers can proactively produce and proactively connect with the market, then support will truly transform into endogenous strength.
The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026–2031, takes place in a special context, when the Front system and socio-political organizations are being arranged, streamlined and aimed at a more effective and efficient operating model.
That means that people's expectations are also higher. They not only look at slogans, but look at the actual results of whether rights are protected or not, whether life is improved or not, and whether development opportunities are opened up or not.
