Attracting 4 billion USD in investment capital in 5 months
On May 30, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held an investment conference in 2025 with the theme "Selecting Ba Ria - Vung Tau" with the aim of introducing the potential, strengths, and list of typical key projects calling for investment in 2025.
The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; representatives of a number of ministries, branches, diplomatic agencies; leaders of localities in the Southeast region and about 400 delegates representing domestic and foreign organizations and associations, experts, businessmen, investors, etc.
Reporting at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that in the first 5 months of 2025, the province has newly granted and adjusted investment capital for 73 projects with a total registered investment capital after conversion of about 4 billion USD.
Of which, there are 37 FDI projects with a total newly registered capital and an increase of about 1.25 billion USD; 36 domestic projects with a total capital of more than 71,400 billion VND after conversion of about 2.75 billion USD.
Currently, the whole province has more than 1,200 domestic and foreign investment projects with a total capital of about 54 billion USD. Of which, there are 503 foreign investment projects with a total investment capital of about 35 billion USD, from 30 countries and territories.
Awarded 53 investment policy decisions, introduced 24 key projects
At the conference, leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province presented 53 investment policy decisions, Investment Registration Certificates for a number of projects, and signed strategic cooperation agreements between Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and investors in the fields of science and technology development, digital transformation, urban areas, seaports, trade, tourism and tourism brand development.
Of which, 11 projects have a total investment of over VND 1,500 billion to VND 35,000 billion such as: 3/2 Road Urban Area project (about VND 35,000 billion); My Xuan international general port (over VND 5,733 billion); HD industrial park (over VND 4,980 billion); Vuong Phat Ecological Urban Area (over VND 4,539 billion); Van Thuong Industrial Park (over VND 4,390 billion)...
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh highly appreciated and praised the efforts and important results that Ba Ria - Vung Tau has achieved, contributing significantly to the development of the Southeast region and the whole country.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the province should make more efforts and strive, have appropriate solutions to overcome shortcomings and limitations to achieve the best results. At the same time, it suggested a number of key solutions for implementation.
That is, it is necessary to innovate thinking, development vision, make the most of resources, promote historical and cultural traditions; exploit and promote effectively, maximize potential, advantages, and special positions in economy, trade, and gateways to the East Sea; promote economic restructuring associated with innovation of growth model based on science and technology, innovation to make breakthroughs in productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness; promote administrative reform, decentralization, and decentralization to reduce administrative procedures.
At the same time, support business development, develop the startup ecosystem, promote the formation of more large enterprises; invest in developing high-quality education, training, and human resources; develop human resources, ensure social security, focus on developing social housing; strengthen international cooperation, innovate and improve the effectiveness of attracting investment in the spirit of accompanying investors...
