Dai-ichi Insurance said that on June 24, 2026, Dai-ichi Vietnam Life Insurance Co., Ltd. sent a letter announcing the approval of paying insurance benefits and payments to people.
This company added that in the first quarter of 2026 alone, the company paid nearly 1,400 billion VND in insurance benefits to nearly 90,000 cases, and made provisions of more than 60,000 billion VND for nghiệp vụ.
Previously, on June 24, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting: The Ministry of Finance received feedback related to Dai-ichi insurance. Accordingly, readers reflected buying insurance from Dai-ichi Company through agent B.P on December 4, 2025.
Readers said that the agent requested the buyer to transfer money to the agent's personal account to pay contract fees and received a voucher of more than 5 million VND from the company. After that, the company announced that because the money had not been paid, the contract was invalid.
According to the reflection, by April 2026, this reader had an insurance event and repeatedly sent information to functional agencies (as of the time of reflection, it has not been resolved).
Answering readers on the Information Portal, the Ministry of Finance quoted Clause 16, Article 4 of the 2022 Law on Insurance Business as stipulating:
An insurance contract is an agreement between the insurance buyer and the insurance company, branches of foreign non-life insurance companies, mutual organizations providing microinsurance, according to which the insurance buyer must pay insurance premiums, the insurance company, branches of foreign non-life insurance companies, mutual organizations providing microinsurance must compensate and pay insurance money according to the agreement in the contract"...
The Ministry of Finance said that regarding the people's recommendations related to the implementation of the above insurance contract, the Ministry has issued an official letter transferring the content to Dai-ichi Vietnam Life Insurance Co., Ltd. for settlement according to the provisions of law and agreements in the insurance contract.
