Forbes magazine estimates that for 12 months (as of June this year), Ryan's Ryan ToysReview channel earned more than 500,000 USD (11.6 billion VND) than actor Jake Paul's channel, who earned the second most money on YouTube. Dude Perfect channel came in 3rd place with 20 million USD (nearly 466 billion VND).
The almost daily clips and the clip advertising a giant blue egg featuring Ryan have attracted more than 1 million views since last weekend.
The amount of money Ryan earns, excluding taxes and fees, is double that of last year.
When asked by NBC why children like his videos, Ryan, now 8 years old, replied: "Because he's interesting and fun."
Since Ryan ToysReview was launched by Ryan's parents in March 2015, the boy's videos have attracted 26 billion views and reached 17.3 million followers.
Forbes said that 1 million of Ryan's $22 million channel earned came from advertising appearing in front of clips while the rest came from advertising clips.
