The State Securities Commission (SSC) has just issued a decision to impose a fine on the Becamex Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (Becamex, HOSE: BCM). This enterprise was fined VND 150 million for the act of disclosing false information. Accordingly, the Becamex Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (Becamex IDC) disclosed false information about the use of proceeds from the issuance of BCMH2328001 bonds in the Report on the use of proceeds from the issuance of bonds with outstanding debt from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024.
According to Official Dispatch No. 1157/2024/CV/IDC-BQLPTV dated October 28, 2024 of the Industrial Investment and Development Corporation - JSC, as of June 30, 2024, the amount of VND 6.5 billion was used in accordance with the issuance purpose, the unused amount of the BCMH2328001 bond package was VND 147.7 billion deposited in a bank deposit account (totaling VND 154.2 billion).
However, in the Report on the use of proceeds from bond issuance for outstanding bonds from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024, this amount of VND 154.2 billion is recorded as temporarily used for another project.
In addition to fines, companies are required to cancel or correct information for publishing false information.
