On October 28, Mr. Duong Hiep Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Canh Vinh Commune (Gia Lai) - said that after the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province Nguyen Huu Que and representatives of the Department of Finance, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Construction, Department of Agriculture and Environment directly inspected Van Canh Market, directed the review and re-determination of rental prices at this market.

"Through the inspection, the provincial leaders requested departments to coordinate with communes to review the method of determining and adjusting the rental price of market premises down to create conditions for traders to do business and buy and sell," said Mr. Hoa.
Mr. Hoa added that according to the direction, in November 2025, the rental price plan must be completed to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. In the immediate future, the locality will create conditions for people to do business in the market. After completing the price list, the appropriate application time will be calculated, in the spirit of the most beneficial for the people.

As Lao Dong has reflected, after nearly half a year of operation, the new Van Canh market (Canh Vinh commune) with modern investment, expected to become a shopping center for local people, has fallen into a state of desolation, with no traders, many kiosks are closed and quiet.
Van Canh market was formerly Canh Hiep market, planned as the central market of Van Canh district (old Binh Dinh province). The project has a total investment of more than 21 billion VND, a scale of nearly 1.5 hectares, started construction in 2020 and will be put into operation from the beginning of May 2025.

According to records, in recent months, some traders have abandoned stalls in the new market and displayed them at points along National Highway 19C through Canh Vinh and Van Canh communes, causing disorder in traffic safety.
Inside the new spacious market, dozens of kiosks are still "closed", with no tenants because the expected price of the premises is considered too high. The long distance from the new market to the residential area is also the reason why the new market is sluggish and lacking buyers.
The situation of traders leaving the new market and gathering to do business along the road also made the business activities in the market even more deserted, contrary to initial expectations.
