Hanoi Chairman Vu Dai Thang visits Meiko and Samsung Vietnam electronics companies

Hanoi - Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang visited typical production and business units in the Capital on the occasion of the first spring of Binh Ngo 2026.

On the afternoon of February 25, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang and the working delegation visited and wished Tet to Meiko Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. (Thach That - Quoc Oai Industrial Park, Tay Phuong commune).

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Tsuchibashi Akito - General Director of Meiko Electronics Co., Ltd. said that the unit currently has more than 6,000 officials and employees, and has been operating in Vietnam for nearly 20 years. The main areas of operation include: Designing, manufacturing and manufacturing electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs); assembling components on PCBs, assembling complete electronic products (EMS).

In 2025, the Company's total revenue reached 704 million USD, total accumulated state budget contributions of about 42 million USD, average income of employees of about 13 million VND/month, average Lunar New Year bonus of Binh Ngo of about 14.7 million VND.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang expressed his pleasure to visit a foreign-invested enterprise that has been operating in Hanoi for nearly 20 years and has made many important contributions to the electronics industry, especially in the field of production and export.

Along with production and business activities, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang requested businesses to continue to maintain and improve policies for workers; and at the same time continue to pay attention to workers' lives, well implement social security policies and strengthen links with local communities for long-term sustainable development.

Next, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang and the working delegation visited, wished Tet, and encouraged officials and employees at the Samsung Vietnam Research and Development Center (SRV) (Lot B1-CC3, Tay Ho Tay Urban Area, Xuan Dinh Ward).

Reporting to the city's delegation, Samsung Vietnam General Director Na Ki Hong expressed his honor and honor to welcome Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang and the city's delegation - the first guests of the Samsung Vietnam Research and Development Center (SRV) after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Mr. Na Ki Hong said that Samsung R&D Center was inaugurated in December 2022. Currently, the scale of human resources here is about 2,600, of which only 10 employees are Korean. This shows the leading role that the Vietnamese human resources team is undertaking.

Here, we mainly focus on developing software for mobile phones and developing hardware for laptops, and are also in charge of developing and verifying 4G/5G network equipment for global carriers" - Mr. Na Ki Hong informed.

Mr. Na Ki Hong also said that Vietnamese engineers working here have made great contributions and received positive reviews from the parent company in developing and verifying new AI technologies integrated on Samsung's latest phone models, as well as developing Vietnamese-language translation software.

Speaking at the visit and working session, Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Dai Thang emphasized that the Samsung R&D Center in Hanoi is the first research and development center of a global corporation located in the Capital, in line with the city's development orientation to become a center of innovation, science and technology of the region.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang expressed his wish that the cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Samsung will continue to be strategically enhanced, especially in the field of innovation and research and development. Hanoi City is committed to accompanying and supporting Samsung in the next development stages; and expressed his belief that Samsung will continue to succeed and make positive contributions to the development of Hanoi and Vietnam.
