On the evening of February 25, a serious traffic accident between a train and a truck occurred on the North-South railway line, passing through Ngoc Hoi commune, killing 2 people and injuring 1 person.
According to initial information, at about 7:51 pm, train SE3 when running through the Van Dien - Thuong Tin section (section through Yen Phu village, Ngoc Hoi commune, Hanoi) collided with a truck with license plate 29H-728. XX crossing the railway.

The strong collision caused the truck to be crushed and thrown about 100m away. The SE3 train locomotive was heavily damaged, and a section of the guardrail at the level crossing area collapsed.
Upon receiving the news, traffic police, fire and rescue police, and Ngoc Hoi Commune Police quickly arrived at the scene to organize rescue and traffic diversion.
Initially, functional agencies determined that the accident killed 2 people on the spot, and another person was injured and taken to the emergency room.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation confirmed the incident. Accordingly, at the above time, train SE3/942 when reaching km13+714, Thuong Tin - Van Dien section, collided with a truck at an automatic barrier at the level crossing. Because the truck was trapped on the railway, the unit issued a dispatch order, mobilized relevant forces to urgently handle, overcome the consequences and ensure train safety.
The cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
