Ong Bau Coffee Brand faces many problems when Hanoi branch owes taxes, director is temporarily suspended from leaving the country.

On May 26, 2025, Mr. Tran Quang Hung - Deputy Head of the Tax Department of Region 1 (now under the Hanoi City Tax Department) signed a document to the Immigration Department - Ministry of Public Security regarding the application of temporary suspension of exit for Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh - Director of the Branch of Ong Bau Coffee Joint Stock Company.

The reason given is that Ms. Oanh - as the legal representative of the enterprise - "had signs of abandoning the business address but had not fulfilled her tax payment obligations".

This measure will be effective until the Branch of Ong Bau Coffee Joint Stock Company fulfills its financial obligations to the state budget.

This move by the tax authority was made after receiving a warning more than a month in advance. In particular, on May 23, 2025, the Tax Department of Region 1 issued Notice No. 16527, requiring Ong Bau Coffee Branch to fulfill its obligation to pay tax debts and late payment fees with a total amount of 3 million VND.

On the same day, the tax authority also announced that the taxpayer was not operating at the registered address at 123 Thach Ban, Long Bien Ward, Hanoi.

Ong Bau Coffee Joint Stock Company officially came into operation in November 2019, with its head office located in Khanh Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Ong Bau Coffee brand quickly created a buzz in the Vietnamese F&B market thanks to the support of famous businessmen such as Mr. Duc, Mr. Thang and Mr. Hai.

According to information from the tax authority, Ong Bau Coffee has registered 17 branches stretching from North to South. However, 4 branches in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Ca Mau have stopped operating, while 3 other branches in Quang Ninh, Hanoi and Da Nang are currently not operating at the registered address.

At the time of establishment, Ong Bau Coffee had a charter capital of 100 billion VND. Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh (born in 1979) is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director, and is also the legal representative and largest shareholder with 51% of charter capital (equivalent to 51 billion VND).
