The stock market still maintained its green color in today's trading session 8.8 despite many times witnessing short adjustments. The VN-Index has changed color from red to green many times and then red again.
However, thanks to the strong buying power appearing at the end of the session, VN-Index closed the session on 8.8 with a slight increase of 3.14 points, thereby continuing to set a new peak of 1,584.95 points. The trading value on HoSE is up to more than 49,100 billion VND.
In today's trading session, foreign investors were the except point when they continued to sell net VND 803 billion in the whole market. On the afternoon of purchase, VPB shares were net bought by foreign investors the most in the whole market, about 225 billion VND, a series of GEX, CII and DCM stocks were also among the top net buyers with a value of more than a hundred billion VND per code.
In contrast, BID and SSI stocks were the most sold stocks in today's session with values of 216 billion and 202 billion VND respectively. In addition, other stocks such as HPG, FPT and VCB were simultaneously "issued" strongly with values ranging from 106 billion VND to 149 billion VND.
Among the stocks sold by foreign investors, there is a notable case of FPT shares. This stock is under strong net selling pressure from foreign investors with 13 consecutive net selling sessions, with a total value of more than VND 3,300 billion. This trend has caused FPT to open foreign rum to 140 million shares (more than 9% of charter capital), a record number for many years.
Commenting on the market trend, Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Investment and Strategy Director of DG Capital, said that after the recent strong correction, VN-Index is completely likely to enter a new uptrend, possibly surpassing the 1,600-point mark, even reaching 1,800 points.
Up to now, about 970 enterprises have announced their business results for the second quarter of 2025, with the total profit of the whole market increasing by about 33% over the same period last year. This is a very positive number, opening up bright expectations for the profit picture for the whole year of 2025. Profit growth comes not only from the financial group but also from non-financial. From these figures, investors can completely look for investment opportunities based on a platform of positive business results.
According to statistics, in the top 20 stocks with the strongest growth in the first 6 months of the year, most of them have very good price increases. Therefore, it can be seen that profit is a key factor leading the stock price trend. However, whether the price increase will last or not depends on the solidity of the business's internal structure.
With a medium-term vision, this is the right time for an opportunity to disburse into potential stocks at a reasonable discount. Investors who have taken a partial profit should also review their portfolios to determine the group of stocks leading the next increase, said Dr. Phuong.
