According to a recent report, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Ha sold 18 million PNJ shares of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company. The transaction was carried out from September 11-18, using order matching and negotiation methods. This is the entire number of shares Ms. Ha registered to sell previously. After the transaction, she also holds 399,999 shares, equivalent to 0.08% of charter capital. Before selling, she owned 3.59% of PNJ's capital.
The transaction value calculated at par value is 180 billion VND. The result report does not disclose the total amount of money actually received by Ms. Ha from the deal. However, if calculated at the average closing price in the above period, the amount collected is estimated at about 662 billion VND.
Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Ha is the daughter of Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of PNJ, and also the younger sister of Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, Vice Chairwoman of the BOD.
On September 11, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, Vice Chairwoman of PNJ's Board of Directors, also successfully sold 7 million PNJ shares by agreement, collecting about 259 billion VND at the agreed price. After the transaction, Ms. Thao reduced her ownership ratio in PNJ from more than 18 million shares, accounting for 3.52% to more than 11 million shares, accounting for 2.15% of charter capital.
After these two transactions, the ownership ratio of Ms. Dung's family group decreased to about 11.25%.
Previously, on September 4, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors signed a decision approving the policy of borrowing capital from Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors with a total loan limit of no more than 5% of the total asset value recorded in the company's latest financial statements.
The purpose of the loan is to supplement working capital to serve production and business activities and without collateral.
The maximum loan term is 12 months from the date the two parties sign the loan contract. Regarding the loan interest rate, the company's Board of Directors assigns the General Director to decide at each time based on the current interest rate of the corporate bond market with equivalent terms.
PNJ's recently released reviewed semi-annual financial statements show that this jewelry company has acquired approximately 5,000 billion VND from July 1 to September 3, 2026 when customers simultaneously resold PNJ products after the scandal related to P-Lab Company (PNJ's subsidiary).
The value of losses for this acquisition is 1,446 billion VND, the provision for losses arising from exchange activities jumped from 0 at the beginning of the year to 2,267 billion VND at the end of Q2/2026. Liquidity pressure from the P-Lab case is the direct cause leading to PNJ needing to borrow more cash.
