According to information from FPT's leaders, Vietnam is one of the most vibrant digital asset markets in the region, with a total transaction scale of up to 120 billion USD.

Vietnam has a position that no other country can have

At GM Vietnam 2025 (Vietnam Technology Week 2025) organized by SSI Digital and Kyros Ventures on August 12 in Hanoi, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT shared in-depth perspectives on the journey of shaping the cryptocurrency asset market in Vietnam. From geopolitical stories to legal infrastructure.

Mr. Binh emphasized that Vietnam is facing a golden opportunity to break out. Vietnam is currently a country in the world that holds a very special geopolitical position, when establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership with the top 12 countries.

This situation will create very special conditions in the coming time for Vietnam to develop - Mr. Binh affirmed. He added that Vietnam is maintaining a high growth rate of about 8%, and is aiming for a double-digit target. The current development strategy is built on three global pillars: Digital transformation, artificial intelligence transformation and green transformation, that is the content of Resolution 57.

Mr. Binh emphasized: "We have a premise for implementation. Once not on the world digital map, Vietnam has risen and shined. There are only two countries in the world where companies with software revenue of over 1 billion USD are India and Vietnam. And there are only two countries with teams of over 1 million people working in information technology.

Golden Opportunity for blockchain and cryptocurrency Assets

In fact, Vietnam has become a blockchain crypto hub in the region. Our blockchain transaction is $35 million a year. Every year, Vietnamese people have one person with digital assets and encrypted assets. The total transaction scale reached 120 billion USD, Mr. Binh cited.

Vietnamese people are very sensitive, very happy with new things, very happy with technology. That is special about our country, he said, adding that FPT has had its own blockchain for 15 years and now owns the akaChain, uTop platforms, FPTs Blockchain has been selected by the European Aviation Association to pair with airline components throughout the region.

We are building emerging financial centers not just for money but for crypto. Vietnam is a golden opportunity for blockchain and crypto.

Vietnam needs to have sovereignty in the blockchain space, like all developed countries. I believe that very soon, Vietnam will legalize digital assets, and there will be digital exchanges, Mr. Binh predicted.

The potential will come from the ability to connect Web2 - Web3

Sharing the same view, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Bach - Director of ATX Growth said that the cryptocurrency asset market is facing an important moment. The legal framework is gradually being perfected. And this is not only a moment of transformation for crypto but also a transformation for Vietnam itself, said Mr. Bach.

According to Mr. Bach, the great opportunity will lie in intermediary technologies that help Web2 users access Web3 easily and safely. We are solving three big problems: a digital asset storage system developed by Vietnamese people, real-time command-line infrastructure with low latency and a seamless online offline experience.

Crypto is no longer a separate technology story. This is part of the national digital transformation strategy, he emphasized.

When legalized, the market will compete more fiercely. Trading floors, communities, and networks will have to be professionalized. But that will promote creativity, increase service quality and make the market transparent.

Mr. Bach concluded that when Vietnam completes the legal framework, develops internal infrastructure and maintains the spirit of innovation, then in the next decade, we can completely rise to become a digital asset center in the region.
