According to data from the Statistics Office, the average income of workers in the third quarter of 2025 is 8.4 million VND/month, an increase of 124 thousand VND compared to the second quarter of 2025 and an increase of 748 thousand VND compared to the same period in 2024. In which, the average income of male workers is 9.4 million VND/month, female workers is 7.2 million VND/month; the average income of workers in urban areas is 10.1 million VND/month, rural areas is 7.2 million VND/month.
In the first nine months of 2025, the average income of workers is 8.3 million VND/month, up 10%, equivalent to an increase of 756 thousand VND over the same period last year. In which, the average income of male workers is 9.3 million VND/month, female workers is 7.1 million VND; the average income of workers in urban areas is 10.0 million VND/month, rural areas is 7.2 million VND/month.
Assessing the labor situation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai - Captain of the Population Statistics Office (Department of Statistics - Ministry of Finance) said that - Vietnam is still in the period of golden population restructuring with a large population of working age and increasing every year, with the labor force participation rate of 15+ people about 69% per year adding about 500,000 people to the labor force.
The labor force aged 15 and over in the third quarter of 2025 will be 53.3 million people, an increase of 254.5 thousand people compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 583.6 thousand people compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of 2025, the labor force aged 15 and over was 53.1 million people, an increase of 556.3 thousand people over the same period last year.
The rate of trained workers continues to increase: The rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates in the third quarter of 2025 is 29.5%, an increase of 0.4% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 1% compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of 2025, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates was 29.1%, an increase of 1% over the same period last year.
"The socio-economic situation of our country in the third quarter of 2025 has recorded more positive results for the same period, however, the labor market still faces many difficulties and challenges" - Ms. Mai emphasized.
According to Ms. Mai, the unemployment rate among working-age people in the third quarter of 2025 was 2.22%, down 0.02% compared to the previous quarter and down 0.01% compared to the same period last year. The rate of unemployment among working-age people in this quarter was 1.50%, down 0.23% compared to the previous quarter and down 0.37% compared to the same period last year.
