The Ministry of Finance adjusts the budget expenditure estimate for 2026, adding more than 5.2 billion VND to the Tax Department to implement the staff streamlining policy.

Adjusting to increase by more than 5.2 billion VND for the Tax Department

The Ministry of Finance has just issued Decision No. 1770/QD-BTC on adjusting the state budget expenditure estimate for 2026 for estimating units under the Ministry.

According to the decision, the Ministry of Finance adjusts the state budget expenditure estimate for 2026 for the estimating units under the Ministry according to attached appendices. Based on the adjusted estimate, the heads of the estimating units under the Ministry of Finance are responsible for allocating and assigning detailed estimates to their affiliated units.

In Appendix I, the Tax Department is adjusted to increase by more than 5.245 billion VND from the state budget. This fund belongs to the group of funds that do not implement autonomy, used to spend on implementing the staff streamlining policy.

According to the notes in the appendix, this is the funding for streamlining staff for civil servants approved in Decision No. 607/QD-BTC dated March 27, 2026 of the Ministry of Finance.

Customs, Treasury, and Statistics are also adjusted to increase.

Not only the Tax Department, but also some other units under the Ministry of Finance have their estimates adjusted to increase to implement the staff streamlining policy.

The Customs Department was adjusted to increase by more than 1.25 billion VND; the State Treasury was adjusted to increase by more than 3.37 billion VND; the Statistics Department was adjusted to increase by more than 2.12 billion VND for the content of spending to implement the staff streamlining policy.

The total amount of increased adjusted funds for 4 units including the Tax Department, Customs Department, State Treasury and Statistics Department is more than 11.99 billion VND.

In the opposite direction, the appendix of the Ministry of Finance Office shows a budget reduction of more than 11.99 billion VND in the content of funds not implementing autonomy, and expenditures for implementing staff streamlining policies. Notes in the appendix state that this reduction is used to adjust and increase the estimates for the Tax Department, Customs Department, State Treasury and Statistics Department.

Decision 1770/QD-BTC takes effect from the date of signing. The Ministry of Finance requests units to manage and use funds for the right purpose, in accordance with regulations, standards, and norms; and at the same time ensure thrift, efficiency, publicity, and transparency in accordance with legal regulations.
