On August 14, the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones (BQL) announced the results of verifying the origin of emissions into residential areas around Lien Chieu Industrial Park (Hai Van ward) reported by people.
Previously, people reported the situation of the factory on roads 3 and 5, Lien Chieu Industrial Park, which regularly emits emissions into the air in the afternoon and evening every day.
According to the reflection, this gas is thick, heavy, insoluble, and has an unpleasant black smell that covers the entire neighboring residential area. Worried about the impact on health, people requested the Management Board to inspect and clearly identify the volume of waste discharge and waste composition mentioned above.

Immediately afterwards, the Management Board coordinated with Saigon - Da Nang Investment Joint Stock Company (SDN Company - the investor in the construction and business of Lien Chieu Industrial Park infrastructure) to check and verify the information. Thereby, it was determined that the smoke-generating facility was a clean air factory belonging to Global Clean Energy Company Limited (GCE Company, Road No. 3 and Road No. 7, Lien Chieu Industrial Park).
GCE said that the smoke discharge is due to the phenomenon of "light water stagnation" (white) appearing frequently in the morning when the temperature is low and the humidity is high, causing the water vents in the after-treatment exhaust gas to stagnate into fog flying low through the residential area.
The current height of the chimney is 22m, although it meets the minimum requirements, but in light and humid conditions, it is not enough to push the steam up, causing the phenomenon of "death anniversary" as reflected. According to the company, the upcoming remedies will increase the height of the chimney by 6m to increase the emission point beyond the low diffuser layer in the morning.
At the same time, check and adjust the flow of sprayed water to limit excess water vape in emissions. Install additional sensors for humidity, environmental temperature and wind speeding to monitor, operate fans and a treatment system that is more suitable for times of low risk of smoke.
Organize periodic measurements every 3 months of dust, SO2, NOx, CO, and smoke flow at the chimney, and send reports to the authorities in accordance with regulations. This unit also recommended that the authorities provide professional support, and at the same time coordinate with businesses during inspections and take periodic emission samples to ensure objectivity and transparency.
According to Mr. Thai Ngoc Trung - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, in the coming time, the Management Board will continue to coordinate with SDN Company to monitor the discharge activities of enterprises in Lien Chieu Industrial Park, conduct inspections, take analysis samples to have a basis for consideration and handling of administrative violations in case the analysis results exceed the permitted discharge limit.
