People in Da Nang City have repeatedly submitted petitions to the City People's Committee regarding the slow construction on some streets such as Ong Ich Khiem, Hoang Dieu and the Nguyen Van Linh roundabout area intersecting with these two routes.
According to the reflection, the renovation of drainage systems on the above streets is greatly affecting people's travel as well as the image of the city in the eyes of tourists. Meanwhile, the construction unit mobilized few human resources and machinery, and the progress was slow.
People requested the city to direct investors and the Project Management Board to request contractors to increase the construction speed, deploy 24/7 hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, in order to soon restore the site for living and transportation.
Along with that, people also recommended speeding up the progress of school renovation projects during the summer vacation.
Previously, at the meeting with voters before the 2025 mid-term session of the People's Council of Da Nang City (before the merger) term X (term 2021-2026) on June 10, Mr. Huynh Tan Han, voter of Group 16A, Phuoc Ninh Ward expressed concerns about urban infrastructure projects in the central area.
Mr. Han shared: "We, the people, really hope that the city will urgently direct relevant units to speed up the construction progress. The long peach road not only causes dust and pollution but also poses a potential risk of traffic accidents, especially during rush hour".
Mr. Han also expressed his concern that the peak tourist season is taking place: "Customers coming to Da Nang and seeing the city center as chaotic and dusty like this will significantly affect the image of the city and the tourism industry".
According to the Management Board of Da Nang City Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, in 2025, a project to renovate the drainage system and underground the information cable and lighting is being implemented on the two routes Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem.
To minimize the impact on daily life, trade and transportation, the Board and contractors have implemented many solutions to speed up the progress such as constructing and installing a drainage system, simultaneously deploying many construction teams (5 teams on Hoang Dieu, 8 teams on Ong Ich Khiem), including 7 teams for casting sewer components at casting sites outside the construction site. Construction teams are also maintained on Saturdays, Sundays and even at night.
