Dak Lak - A local enterprise has just exported a shipment of processed coffee shells to the Korean market.

On February 24, Dak Lak 2-9 Import-Export Company Limited (Simexco Daklak) exported a shipment of specialty Cascara coffee shells to the Korean market. The batch weighed more than 500kg, worth nearly 1 million VND/kg.

Coffee skins were often thrown away during processing. However, this item has now been fully utilized to create Cascara coffee shells. Thereby, bringing great profits.

Cascara coffee peels are not only characteristic in flavor but are also good for health, anti-oxidation, digestion support and immune boost. Coffee peel products are suitable for people who are sensitive to caffeine and want to find alternative products.

Mr. Le Duc Huy - Chairman of the Board of Members of Simexco Daklak commented that the unit not only promotes the export of specialty coffee beans but also increases the value of coffee husks.

The company has invested in and built a modern processing and technology system to turn coffee peels into an aromable, nutritious product.

"This is an important milestone in the strategy of developing specialty coffee products, while opening up new opportunities for the Vietnamese coffee industry to reach out to the world," Mr. Huy shared.
