From September 29 to October 2, 2025, the working delegation of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and major commercial banks attended the Sibos 2025 Annual Conference held in Frankfurt (Germany).
SBV booth at Sibos 2025: Symbol of cooperation and integration
The Sibos 2025 Annual Conference is the largest international banking and finance event globally organized by SWIFT, gathering tens of thousands of senior leaders, experts and financial institutions from more than 150 countries.
The presence of the State Bank of Vietnam and Vietnamese commercial banks at Sibos 2025 demonstrates the strong determination of the banking industry in the process of international integration, while promoting the image of a dynamic, open Vietnam, towards green finance and sustainable development.
At this event, the SBV coordinated with 3 major commercial banks, Vietcombank, VietinBank and Agribank, to open a common booth at the Sibos 2025 exhibition area. The booth is designed in a modern style, harmoniously combining traditional Vietnamese cultural elements, to introduce the image of a professional, friendly and rapidly changing Vietnamese banking system in the digital age.
Immediately after the booth activities, the delegation of the State Bank and Vietnamese commercial banks attended the Plenary Opening Session of Sibos 2025. The opening session was attended by senior leaders of financial institutions, central banks, international organizations and leading financial technology enterprises in the world.
Here, the SBV delegation had the opportunity to meet and exchange with partner organizations, grasp the latest development trends of the global finance and banking industry in the context of digital transformation, climate change and restructuring the international financial supply chain.
In the following working days, the SBV delegation will attend many important discussion sessions with the topics: Payment Experience Initiative - Improving global payment experience; Technology footprint - Applying new technology in financial infrastructure; Network Optionality - Diversifying connections and payment infrastructure; Alliance Connect Evolution - Future of SWIFT network connection.
These topics are all closely linked to the strategic orientation of the Vietnamese banking industry, especially in improving international payment efficiency, expanding technology infrastructure, and enhancing connectivity with the global financial system.
Cooperation promotion and partner connection activities
In parallel with attending the discussion sessions, the SBV delegation organized many bilateral working activities with international financial institutions, partner banks and leading technology enterprises. The delegation discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of cross-border payments, digital transformation, risk management and green finance development.
The presence of the State Bank and commercial banks at Sibos 2025 is of great significance. This is an opportunity to promote the image of a modern, friendly and deeply integrated Vietnamese banking system. At the same time, the event also demonstrated the proactive role of the SBV in accompanying the Government in the international economic integration strategy.
