During the 28 - 30 days of September 30, due to the influence of storm No. 10, Cao Bang province experienced heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes, floods, inundation and landslides, causing heavy damage to people, property and infrastructure.
According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cao Bang province (updated to 12:00 on October 1), the whole province has recorded 4 deaths, including a 6-day-old child due to a landslide that collapsed a house, along with many cases of being swept away by floodwaters.



In addition, 2 people are still missing at the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway construction site, and rescue forces are currently searching for them.
Regarding housing, up to 4,140 houses were affected, of which: 146 houses had their roofs blown off by tornadoes, 169 houses had their houses eroded (5 households had to be urgently evacuated), 3,360 houses were flooded, 4 houses were severely damaged and 461 households were isolated. The whole province currently has 13 hamlets isolated due to rising floodwaters and landslides on traffic routes.
Agriculture suffered heavy damage with more than 5,000 hectares of rice, crops and crops flooded and buried. Many educational facilities, agency headquarters, cultural houses and irrigation systems were also damaged.
In particular, 10 schools were seriously affected, including some places where teaching had to be temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of students.

Traffic was interrupted widely with 195 landslides and 47 flooding points, including many sections on key national and provincial highways.
Some bridges for people were washed away or severely damaged. The medium and low voltage power grid also recorded dozens of broken poles and thousands of meters of damaged wires.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province has issued an urgent telegram directing departments, branches and localities to focus on responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.



The Provincial Civil Defense Command has established a command post at the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway site, directly directing search and rescue work.
Hundreds of military officers, soldiers, police and militia were mobilized to participate in rescue, evacuate people and clean up landslides.
The military alone has supported the evacuation of hundreds of households, while the police have deployed more than 100 officers and soldiers with specialized vehicles to rescue and support people and students to move out of the danger zone.
Currently, Cao Bang province continues to mobilize maximum forces and means to overcome the consequences, search for missing people and support people to stabilize their lives.


According to the actual records of the reporter, on the afternoon of October 1, the rushing water was receding slightly, and people were on duty to clean up as the water receded. Ms. Trieu Kim Cuc (Thuc Phan ward) - shared: "Maybe this is a historic flood, there has not been such a severe flood in nearly 50 years".
According to Ms. Cuc, on the evening of September 30, the floodwaters rose too quickly, "swallowing" the first floor of her family, she only had time to take a few sets of clothes and evacuate them urgently. "After the flood, everything went into numbers, and all of my furniture and assets were 100% broken" - the sad woman shared.
