According to the People's Committee of Le Chan District, in recent years, along with the development of the city, Le Chan District has had many positive changes, becoming a central district with the highest population size and density in the city. In early 2021, the Ho Sen - Cau Rao 2 route was completed and put into use, contributing to improving the landscape of the Ho Sen area.
However, the sidewalks along the Sen Lake side of Cho Con Street and the Sen Lake roundabout, part of the Hai Phong 1B drainage project completed in 2010, have now deteriorated, leading to an inconsistent landscape of the sidewalks and roads around the lake. The renovation of the Sen Lake to improve the landscape of the political and administrative center of Le Chan District as well as create a place for cultural and sports activities for residents in the surrounding area is very necessary.
The Ho Sen Lake Renovation Investment Project has a total area of 19,664.9m2 with the following items: Renovation of sidewalks of Ho Sen and Cho Con streets; renovation of Ho Sen streets; Cho Con streets; relocation of 3 transformer stations on the sidewalk of Cho Con street; renovation of flower beds and sidewalk landscapes on the side of Cho Con street; construction of landscape architecture works highlighting the lake surface; installation of lighting and decoration systems; planting aquatic plants on the lake surface; installation of public utility equipment... The project has a total investment of 60 billion VND from the Le Chan district budget.
According to Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam, the completed investment project to renovate Sen Lake will contribute to synchronous connection with the regional traffic and technical infrastructure system, supplementing public works for social welfare to improve the quality of cultural and spiritual life of the people in the area; at the same time, urban embellishment, environmental landscape creation and step by step construction, development and modernization of Hai Phong city in general, Le Chan district in particular.
