Positive signals about newly registered businesses
According to the General Statistics Office, the number of newly registered enterprises in October 2024 increased again after three consecutive months of decline (July 2024 decreased by 6.3%; August 2024 decreased by 15.2%; September 2024 decreased by 16.3%) with nearly 14.2 thousand newly registered enterprises. Of which, the registered capital was more than 153.5 trillion VND and the number of registered employees was nearly 80.5 thousand employees. Compared to September 2024, the number of enterprises increased by 26.5%, the registered capital increased by 65.4% and the number of employees increased by 27.8%.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the country had more than 202,300 newly registered and re-established enterprises, up 9.1% over the same period in 2023, higher than the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market. On average, more than 20,200 enterprises joined and re-entered the market per month.
The number of enterprises returning to operation in the first 10 months of 2024 reached more than 61.1 thousand enterprises, an average of more than 6.6 thousand enterprises returning to operation each month. In particular, October 2024 recorded a high increase in the number of enterprises returning to operation (after a decrease in September 2024) with nearly 8.6 thousand enterprises nationwide, an increase of 33.5% compared to the previous month.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang - an economic expert, assessed that the positive figures of newly registered businesses and businesses returning to the market show that the total demand of the economy is on an upward trend.
Activities related to public investment, foreign investment, and import-export markets are very vibrant in the last months of the year.
The real estate market has been unblocked through 3 new laws, gradually recovering, creating favorable conditions for the development of industrial production and construction materials. In addition, public investment continues to be promoted, creating favorable conditions for businesses in infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, contributing to faster circulation of goods.
"Especially in recent times, the Government and ministries, branches and localities have been very active and proactive in taking measures and policies to remove difficulties for businesses, helping businesses stabilize and develop production. This shows that the current business environment in Vietnam has many positive points with a series of incentives. When the environment is favorable, it will create motivation for businesses to be excited about investment" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang said.
Efforts to complete the business goal of entering the market
To achieve the target of increasing the number of enterprises entering the market (newly established and returning to operation) by at least 10% in 2024 compared to 2023 according to Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 5, 2024 of the Government, in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to promote the implementation of a number of measures to support and encourage enterprises and investors.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang said that it is necessary to continue implementing public investment programs, foreign investment, digital transformation, green transformation. Stabilize the macro economy, control inflation and unemployment.
In particular, there are preferential tax policies and reduced administrative procedures to support businesses.
According to the General Statistics Office, it is necessary to focus on diversifying trade and investment relations by taking advantage of opportunities from the expansion of the BRICS bloc to strengthen economic relations with new members such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, while maintaining and developing relations with traditional partners.
Prioritize promoting structural reform and improving labor productivity through improving the business environment, promoting innovation and improving the quality of human resources.
At the same time, improve the capacity of domestic enterprises to better take advantage of opportunities from international economic integration. Promote the application of digital technology in economic sectors, and develop green industries and renewable energy to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the economy.
