Typhoon No. 3 Yagi has left behind heavy property damage to many businesses in Thai Binh province. The business community in the province has been mobilizing maximum human resources, means, and materials to urgently clean factories, repair workshops, and install machinery to resume stable production.
However, after storm No. 3, heavy rain and floods have occurred in Thai Binh province over the past few days, making the already difficult task of overcoming the consequences of the storm and restoring production even more difficult and arduous.
In Tien Hai district, according to incomplete statistics from the authorities, the material damage to businesses in Tien Hai Industrial Park amounted to hundreds of billions of VND. Accordingly, tens of thousands of square meters of factory roofs were blown off, most production lines were interrupted, and many factories estimated that it would take another half month to repair the damage.
For example, Mikado Ceramic Tile Factory of Thien Hoang Technical and Commercial Joint Stock Company in Tien Hai Industrial Park had 4 factories with roofs blown off, with a total area of over 10,000m2. Wind and storms flooded into warehouses and factories, damaging many production equipment and raw materials, with estimated losses of tens of billions of VND.
Mr. Vu Hai Duong - Production Manager of Mikado Ceramic Tile Factory - shared: "From early morning on September 8 until now, all staff and workers of the company have focused on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and reproducing. Because the damaged area of the factory is too large, we have decided to focus all resources on clearing the rubble, repairing the factory as much as possible and putting it back into production immediately.
With the tireless efforts of staff, workers and hiring additional construction forces, by the afternoon of September 9, the company had put 3/4 of the production workshop into operation, ensuring jobs for workers as well as meeting delivery schedules for domestic and export partners.
According to Mr. Duong, for severe damage that cannot be repaired or overcome by themselves, businesses are reviewing and evaluating to hire an outside unit to carry out repairs and upgrades, so it will take up to half a month to fully restore.
In Thai Binh city and districts of Thai Thuy, Vu Thu, Kien Xuong, Dong Hung, Quynh Phu, Hung Ha, many businesses were also devastated by storm No. 3, with surrounding walls, factories, warehouses, and trees destroyed, with estimated damage of hundreds of billions of dong.
"Before the storm, the company spent nearly 1 billion VND to buy additional materials and equipment to reinforce the factory, protect goods, machinery and equipment, and support the tree system. However, storm No. 3 was so strong that it broke, felled, and uprooted thousands of trees in the factory premises. Since the morning of September 8, more than 1,400 officers and workers volunteered to come to the company to clean up, clean the environment, erect and support fallen trees, and ensure safety conditions to welcome nearly 16,000 workers back to the factories for normal production on the morning of September 9," said Mr. Le Tuan Thien - Party Secretary of Tan De Sports Products Production Joint Stock Company.
