Sir, the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc marked a historic turning point, forming the new Dong Nai province. What is the new message that you want to send to the people of Dong Nai province?
- After the merger, Dong Nai province has a population of over 4.4 million people, an area of over 12,737km2, the 4th largest economy in the country.
Dong Nai has an important position, as the center of the Southern key economic region, as an inter-regional gateway, the largest industrial "capital" in the country. With this location, the new Dong Nai will become an important economic corridor, with a diverse and multi-modal transport network ( airline, road, rail, waterway) with Long Thanh International Airport being the gateway to Vietnam's international airports; Phuoc An Port is the center of the country's major seaports. The new Dong Nai will become a major center for the production of goods, services, and logistics in the country. When merged, Dong Nai will become the province with the largest livestock industry in Vietnam.
With many potentials and advantages assessed as ticky, favorable, and harmonious along with open and airy investment policies and operating mechanisms of the Party and State in the spirit of Promoting decentralization and delegation of power with the motto locality decides, locality does, locality is responsible. I believe that the new Dong Nai province, after the merger, will rise to become one of the leading economic, industrial and logistics service centers in Vietnam.
Sir, in the first phase of operating the new apparatus, there will certainly be major changes, even challenges?
- We deeply realize that the road ahead is not only favorable. The merger of two provinces is an important and complicated task, the merger of the administrative apparatus, the restructuring of the organization, and the rearrangement of the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees from the two localities is a big challenge and there will be initial disruptions in the workplace, work position, and even changes in the lives of a number of cadres and families.
For the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees, I expect a lot of responsibility, professionalism and the will to overcome challenges. First, each cadre and party member needs to deeply realize that this change is for the common good, for the development of the province in the new period. Temporarily put aside personal concerns and concerns, putting the interests of the collective and the people above all. The provincial leaders pledged to have policies and roadmaps to arrange cadres in a fair, objective, transparent, reasonable manner, ensuring stability and creating the best conditions for each person to promote their abilities.
Second, the new apparatus needs a new breath of life. I expect each cadre and civil servant to be a positive factor in building operating regulations, improving working processes, and quickly putting the apparatus into smooth and effective operation. We must be determined to eliminate local and local thinking, together building a professional, united and effective working environment.
Third, cadres from Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc, each with their own experiences and strengths. This is a valuable opportunity for us to learn, complement each other, and create a stronger, more comprehensive team. The consensus and support of the people is the origin of strength, the decisive factor for the success of this major policy.
I believe and hope that the people will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, and sharing initial difficulties.
As the head of the Provincial People's Committee, can you share your long-term development vision for an open Dong Nai - worthy of being a land of convergence and strong development in the future?
- Firstly, Dong Nai province has just identified the industrial development goal as the main driving force of Dong Nai province's economy after merging with Binh Phuoc, with favorable geographical location, transportation, especially a large land fund, and much room for development, especially attracting high-tech, clean technology, and environmentally friendly industries.
Second, Dong Nai province has Phuoc An port, Long Thanh international airport, border gates, which will create more favorable conditions for transportation and logistics, reduce costs, increase competitiveness, and facilitate the circulation of goods.
Third, Dong Nai must strive to complete a synchronous, modern, and smart infrastructure framework. In particular, forming urban areas, tourism, and high-class resort services; developing specialized education and training complexes for the Southeast region; building a creative innovation center, an information technology park focusing on creating new value chains with higher intellectual content, more knowledge, and better quality of life for people.
Fourth, Dong Nai focuses on building mechanisms and policies to attract talents to Dong Nai to live and work; improving the quality of human resources through training to meet international standards, gradually improving productivity and labor quality in a sustainable way; promoting green transformation, having specific, appropriate and effective solutions for each industry and field; must link economic growth with green growth, sustainable growth, and growth towards a circular economy.
Dong Nai will promote all its potential and advantages for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time, becoming an important driving force for the country to enter a new era, an era of national growth.
