On July 28, in Dong Nai city, the Forum "Building ecological and smart industrial parks - a driving force to attract investment and develop a green economy in the Southeast region" took place.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Nguyen Kim Long - Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Nai City People's Committee - said that with a large-scale industrial park system, along with advantages in geographical location, land fund and increasingly complete transportation infrastructure, Dong Nai has many favorable conditions to become one of the leading localities in developing ecological, smart and high-tech industrial parks.
In the coming time, Dong Nai city will focus on selectively attracting investment; prioritizing high-tech, clean technology projects with high added value, efficient use of resources and environmental friendliness.
The city will also gradually transform existing industrial parks towards ecology; promote energy saving, water reuse, waste circulation and form symbiosis between businesses in the same industrial park.
Dong Nai City will continue to improve the investment environment, promote administrative reform, accompany and promptly remove difficulties for businesses.
The city always appreciates investors with long-term vision, advanced technology and responsibility to the environment, workers and the community.
According to representatives of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), studies show that green industrial parks, ecological and smart industrial parks can help increase labor productivity from 15-25% thanks to the application of high technology, improving the working environment and attracting quality personnel. At the same time, this is a prerequisite for Vietnamese businesses to continue participating in the global value chain.
To not miss the opportunity, Vietnam needs to strongly restructure the industry towards sustainability. Investing in green industry is not just a choice, but a mandatory requirement if Vietnam wants to maintain rapid growth and maintain its position in the Net Zero era.
According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Nai city, the city is focusing on developing 3 key functional zones including: Long Thanh Digital Technology Zone (119 ha) which is a chip, AI, R&D production center, Binh An innovation zone (300 ha) which is a startup, research, and technology testing space, and Dong Xoai Science and Technology Zone (200 ha), developing training - research - production links.
In addition, existing industrial parks will be restructured in a green, smart, circular and low-emission direction; new industrial parks prioritize specialized, high-tech and ecological models. The goal is to build Dong Nai into a multi-functional growth pole, a strategic gateway of the Southern key economic region and an airport city with global connectivity capacity.
