Airport project will open up opportunities for Kon Tum to develop

Kon Tum - The Mang Den Airport project will open up many spaces for economic, service and tourism development for the locality.

On October 7, information from the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee said that the unit had submitted a document to the Ministry of Transport to supplement the Master Plan for the development of the national airport and seaport system for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, Mang Den Airport, Kon Plong district is an important driving force project, playing a role in promoting the economic and social development of the province.

The project will connect Kon Tum province with the centers and key economic regions of the country as well as serve well the rescue work.

After the Prime Minister agreed to add Mang Den Airport to the national airport network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to deploy detailed planning.

Kon Tum will focus on researching options for hiring qualified and experienced consultants to meet the conditions of an airport built in a mountainous area with complex terrain and geology.

The Mang Den Airport Project is invested in construction to create economic development space for Kon Tum in general and Mang Den National Ecotourism Area in particular. Thereby contributing to the formation of urban areas, industrial zones, services, and tourism.

The project is implemented under the PPP method. All operating, maintenance and exploitation costs during the project life cycle are borne by the investor, helping to save resources and the State management apparatus.

For the people, the establishment of Mang Den Airport will create favorable traffic conditions, create more job opportunities and increase income for the people.

Kon Tum province aims to welcome more than 1 million tourists in 2024. Most of them will come to Mang Den, which is considered the “tourist heart” of the province with majestic nature and fresh climate.
