With two consecutive expressway sections, the distance from Le Thanh Border Gate to Quy Nhon seaport will be convenient, shortened, serving economic, commercial, security, and defense purposes.

Previously, the Pleiku - Le Thanh expressway project was proposed by Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to be invested in PPP method.
According to the Ministry of Construction, the Pleiku - Le Thanh expressway (CT. 20), connecting Pleiku City with Le Thanh International Border Gate, has been included in the Road Network Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050, with an expected investment progress after 2030.
However, the plan also identifies that early investment can be studied (before 2030) in case the locality mobilizes resources.
