World gasoline prices today
World gasoline prices in today's trading session, August 21 (Vietnam time), simultaneously decreased. WTI crude oil was at 73.03 USD/barrel, down 0.14 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.19%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at a price of 73.17 USD/barrel, opening today's session at a price of 73.08 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 77.08 USD/barrel, down 0.12 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.16%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 77.20 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 77.18 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, the oil market is under pressure from geopolitical developments in the Middle East. Meanwhile, a preliminary Reuters poll showed that crude oil reserves in the US are forecast to decrease by 2.9 million barrels.
In addition, concerns about China's economic problems also put pressure on oil prices. After a dismal second quarter, the world's second-largest economy continued to lose momentum in July as new home prices fell at the fastest pace in nine years, industrial output slowed, and export and investment growth grew. Investment decreased while unemployment rate increased.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 21, retail gasoline prices according to Petrolimex's published price list in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above mentioned domestic retail gasoline price was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade at the price management session on the afternoon of August 15. Accordingly, the price of fuel oil increased the most, 217 VND/kg. Diesel oil increased the least, 89 VND/liter. Two gasoline products E5 RON 92 and RON 95-III increased by 167 VND/liter and 179 VND/liter respectively. Kerosene also increased by 161 VND/liter.

Pvoil applies discount rates on August 21: Oil discount 1,950 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,800 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,650 VND/liter. This discount is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai warehouse, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc gasoline discount on August 21 is as follows: Oil discount: 1,850 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,750 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,500 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 21: 95-III gasoline: 1,600; E5 gasoline: 1,250; Oil: 1,850 - 1,950 VND/liter depending on volume.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic gasoline prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that in the next price management period, gasoline prices may decrease. In particular, gasoline can be reduced by 500 - 600 VND/liter; Oil dropped below 400 - 500 VND/liter.
From the beginning of the year until now, since the price management session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 15 times. Oil products had 16 increases and 16 decreases.
